I will keep your law continually,
forever and ever,
and I shall walk in a wide place,
for I have sought your precepts.
Wide Places
Law-keeping? My ego shudders at the thought,
I want to determine for myself what I should or ought.
But the entropy of myself will destroy in short time,
My own self serving laws and schemes I design.
Your law gives life, yes, If I can but hear,
But I must be open to desire and love, not fear.
Your desire for me is to walk in places roomy and wide,
But to find them I need to let go of my pride.
Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, I pray,
Show me the wide places as I walk through this day.
